The women of wrestling have often been forced to play secondary roles while the men got all of the camera-time, admiration, and fan attention. But at the same time, a die-hard group of women have been wrestling with all of the strength, athleticism, and heart of any male wrestler since the 1930's. One of these women was pioneer Mildred Burke -- who is still an inspiration to women wrestlers everywhere and has a special place in the hearts of Steel Kittens.

In her prime, Mildred Burke was so good that her promoter once had to send the sheriff after a scheduled opponent to force him to come to the ring. When they finally got the guy from behind his counter (he was a short-order cook), he claimed that he couldn't wrestle Mildred because he wasn't wearing any trunks and didn't have any with him. So she took hers off (she was wearing a leotard) and gave them to him, and promptly pinned him in no time flat.

This highly contested Professional Women’s Wrestling Match, has both wrestlers digging deep, and neither giving in. Furious holds, and brutal pins. Knees jabs and punching. The Goddess becomes the Goddess of “MEAN” rallying hard for that belt, but Fire is not willing to give. Both fighters experienced their share of pain, and in the end, are exhausted and bloodied. But there will only be one victorious woman today!
